Spain

Why Spain?

Studying in Spain always attracts as many Moroccan students in search of both an ideal living environment and quality studies. Why is Spain one of the favorite destinations for Moroccan students who want to study abroad? First, Spain is a border country with Morocco, so there is a geographical proximity between the two countries. This represents a real advantage for Moroccan students who, depending on the geographical areas in which they live in Morocco, are Spanish-speaking.

Education System In Spain:

The higher education system in Spain is coordinated by the Ministry of Education and Science, which is responsible for the regulation and supervision of higher education institutions in Spain. Spanish universities are autonomous, allowing them to design their own curricula, organise their own examinations and manage their own budgets. Universities in Spain are funded by the government as well as by tuition fees paid by students.

Higher education in Spain is organized into three cycles:

1.  Undergraduate: The first cycle of graduate studies (Grado) usually lasts four years and corresponds to the completion of an undergraduate degree (Licenciatura or Diplomatura) . Students can choose from a wide variety of programs, including arts, science, social sciences, health, engineering and business.

2.  Second cycle: The second cycle (Máster) usually lasts from one to two years and allows students to continue their training and specialize more in their field of study. Master’s programs are offered in a wide variety of disciplines.

3.  Third cycle: The third cycle (Doctorado) allows students to pursue doctoral studies and conduct independent research in their field of study. This cycle usually lasts three to five years.

The Selectividad Test:

The Selectividad test or PCE is a standardized test taken by high school students in Spain who wish to pursue higher education at a university. The test is held once a year, typically in June, and is administered by each of the country’s regional governments.
The Selectividad test is divided into two parts:
General Phase (Fase General): This part of the test is mandatory and consists of four subjects: Spanish Language and Literature, Foreign Language (usually English, French or German), History, and a subject of the student’s choice from among the following: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or Social Sciences.
Specific Phase (Fase Específica): This part of the test is optional and consists of two or three subjects chosen by the student, depending on the university and the degree program they wish to pursue. Each university sets its own criteria for the specific phase of the test and assigns a score to each subject. These scores are then used, along with the score from the general phase, to determine if the student meets the admission requirements for the desired university and program.
The Selectividad test is a rigorous exam that tests a student’s knowledge and critical thinking skills in various subjects. The test scores are used by universities to determine which students will be admitted to their programs, with higher scores generally giving students a better chance of being accepted.

DELE:

Spanish Diploma in Foreign Language. This is the name of the Spanish language test. It is an official diploma of accreditation of the level of competence and mastery of the Spanish language. It is granted by the Instituto Cervantes affiliated to the Ministry of Education
